    "Supermarionation Cross-Sections" by Graham Bleathman
    Hardcover, 48 pages (30 September 2001)
    Publisher: Carlton Books; ISBN: 1842224115

    Synopsis from the Author
    From the Author:
"Supermarionation Cross-Sections" is a follow-up volume to the best selling Thunderbirds FAB Cross-Sections published by Carlton Books in 2000. Whilst that book concentrated on the craft and locations associated with International Rescue, "Supermarionation Cross-Sections" broadens its scope to feature other series created by Gerry Anderson.

Thunderbirds 1-5 are reprinted from the first volume, alongside new cross-sections featuring Stingray, Titan's Terrorfish, Stingray's base Marineville, the Fireball XL5, Joe 90's cottage and Flying car, plus four craft from "Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons." (These are the Spectrum Pursuit vehicle, Maximum Security Vehicle, Cloudbase and an Angel Interceptor.)

To round off the book smaller drawings of other Spectrum craft are featured plus a cutaway of the Zero X spaceship that appeared in Thunderbirds are Go and the first episode of Captain Scarlet.

Probably the most challenging cross-section I drew for the book was Marineville. On TV, only the Control Tower, the living quarters next to it, the hospital, power plant and Stingray's pen are prominently featured. The rest of the best seems to consist of a number of non-descript warehouses, like buildings and installations that house the W.A.S.P. Training Unit, workshops, laboratories and the like.

What needed to be shown was where the rest of the personnel live, where the aircraft are stored and what the underground submarine network looks like. As most of this isn't seen in the Stingray episodes, Marineville's cross-section almost became an exercise in town planning, effectively producing a sort of Milton Keynes with missiles!
